Spruce Tea & Infused Oil

How to Make Spruce Tea & Spruce-Infused Oil

1. Spruce Needle Tea (Immune-Boosting & Respiratory Support)

This tea is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, great for colds, congestion, and overall wellness.

Ingredients:

* 1 tablespoon fresh or dried spruce needles (chopped for better extraction)

* 1 cup hot water (not boiling, around 160-180°F or 70-80°C)

* Optional: Honey or lemon for taste

Instructions:

1. Rinse the spruce needles thoroughly to remove dirt or debris.

2. Chop the needles slightly to release more nutrients.

3. Place the needles in a cup and pour hot water over them.

4. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Avoid boiling, as high heat destroys vitamin C.

5. Strain and enjoy. Add honey or lemon if desired.

Usage:

* Drink 1-2 cups per day for immune support.

* Avoid excessive consumption, especially during pregnancy.

2. Spruce-Infused Oil (For Skin, Muscle Pain, & Aromatherapy)

This oil is great for massage, muscle relief, and skincare.

Ingredients:

* 1 cup fresh spruce needles or ½ cup dried needles

* 1 cup carrier oil (olive oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil)

Traditionally this would have been made from oil from rendered Bear or Racoon Fat.

* A glass jar with a lid

Instructions:

1. Clean and dry the spruce needles.

2. Place them in a glass jar and cover them with your chosen carrier oil.

3. Seal the jar and let it sit in a warm, sunny spot for 2-4 weeks, shaking it gently every few days.

4. Strain the oil using cheesecloth or a fine sieve, discarding the needles.

5. Store the infused oil in a dark glass bottle in a cool place.

Usage:

* Massage onto sore muscles or joints.

* Apply to dry or irritated skin.

* Use a few drops in a bath for relaxation.
